A digipak is a set of image of an artist or band. It comes with a cd in an insert with around 6 images of a front cover, back cover and other lyrics or images of songs. A digipak represents an artist with images of codes and conventions of certain genres.
One Direction
Young, mischievous, fun, close relationship- close up, direct address
Pop genre- bright image and clothing, cheesy, smiling, soft colours, smooth bubble fonts
The Killers
Dark, indie, disjointed, distorted
No direct address, rock/indie, grunge, black and dark, moody, older male audience, girl on front
Katy Perry
Stands out, diva, sassy, post feminist,- darker side to her (back ground)
Juxtaposed park back ground but bright pop foreground (bubble writing)
In my digipak i need to include a clear band logo/font and album title as well as a photo for the album cover. We need to have a list of songs included in the digipak for the back of the album and we also need to include pictures of the band. We were thinking about doing a pop punk genre.
REFLECT - what must you include in your own work? How would you consider audience and genre?
