Pete the chief examiner and Jake a proffessional Music Video Director and Editor came in to talk to us and teach us about the making of music videos, and gave us tips about the course.
Some of the tips i learnt about making the music video and the editing of the video:
- Plan every part of the course from Storyboards the Locations and props.
- Make A timeline of the song and mark out cues for sections of the song.
- Avoid really popular songs
- Check over and learn the equipment that i am using
- Shoot the video at least 10 times, and make sure that I have enough footage
- Sync up the video footage before editing it down to size, to get the whole picture first
- Make sure all the cuts are aligned to the the music (ie change scene for a verse, chorus)
- Looks at other projects and videos for tips and ideas
- Make sure the video goes with the music chosen, making the video dynamic following the highs and lows of the song
